Hell's Highway (1932) Gritty Prison crime drama movie

Hell's Highway (1932) 1930s prison movie, The film centers around the conditions in a brutal Southern prison. Chain gang prisoners are forced to construct a "highway" for their overseer. Duke Ellis who is the head inmate among them soon discovers his younger brother has also been incarcerated and forced to join the chain gang. Soon enough Duke will mastermind a mass revolt. This RKO Films production was part of the crime film craze of the 1930s, along with Gangster movies. This is a fine example of American black-and-white films of the era. Broken Trout movies.
