Sponge Filter Hack! How To Optimize A Sponge Filter @Poseidon's Pets Sponge filters are one of my favorite filters and one of the easiest to use! This Sponge Filter Hack will show you how to optimize your sponge filter! There are many sponges out there but they are all built similarly. One of the downsides to sponge filters is the upward water flow. Unlike powerheads, cannisters, or hang on the back filters, that have a water flow outlet, sponge filters direct water upwards. These small tips and modifications will make sure that you get the best out of your sponge filters! In this video I show how I modify my sponge filters to make them the best they can be! I would love to take credit for all of the innovations I have made to my sponges but I have seen many other fish keepers modify sponge filters to make them more efficient.
