Outpost Estates (Hollywood Hills)

Outpost Estates Hollywood Hills / Los Angeles Episode 110 Outpost Estates is a neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, consisting of about 450 homes. It is bordered by Mulholland Drive to the North, Franklin Avenue to the South, Runyon Canyon Park to the West, and the Hollywood Bowl to the East. In the 1920s, in the hills above what would become Outpost Estates, a large sign that spelled out "Outpost" in red neon letters 30 feet high was erected. The sign was intended to compete with the “Hollywoodland” sign, (which later became the Hollywood sign). At the time, it was the largest neon sign in the United States. The Outpost sign was dismantled during World War II and the wreckage of the sign was left in place. This trip starts headed West on Mulholland Drive with a quick turn South on Outpost Drive (00:00). Outpost Drive ends just West of the Magic Castle, where we head West on Franklin Ave then West on Hollywood Blvd (00:00). We eventually turn onto Sunset Blvd (00:00) and wrap up this trip Westbound on the Sunset Strip through West Hollywood headed towards Beverly Hills. Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio
