How to use a moisture meter
A lot of surveyors will own and use a moisture meter but it is very important that we use them wisely. On many occasions the surveyor will simply scan the base of the walls looking for rising damp and could potentially miss other damp related issues. I always scan the entire surface and it is surprising how many times that results in me identifying damp issues that would have otherwise been missed. Moisture meters can be an invaluable tool when used correctly and can ensure that clients are made aware of all potential damp related defects.
