Fagu to Sarahan | Hatu Peak | Day 4 | Sutlej Valley Begins | Pune to Spiti Solo Ride 2026 | EP-03

Episode 3 of my Pune to Spiti Ride 2026 takes me from Fagu Valley to Sarahan, covering around 152 km through some of the most changing landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. The day started inside the beautiful pine forests around Fagu and Narkanda. From there, I rode towards Hatu Peak, standing at around 3,400 meters, and visited the peaceful Hatu Mata Temple at the top. The climb to Hatu Peak was narrow, steep, beautiful, and honestly one of the most memorable climbs of the ride. After that, I visited Tani Jubbar Lake, a quiet lake near Narkanda, before continuing towards Sarahan. Slowly, the scenery started changing. The pine forests disappeared, the temperature changed, the road dropped down, and suddenly the massive Sutlej River appeared beside the route. By the time I reached Sarahan, the ride had completely shifted from green pine forests to the raw Sutlej Valley landscape. The plan was to stay near Sarahan because the next day was going to be even more exciting — the ride towards Chitkul, the last village of India. Sarahan is also home to the famous Bhimakali Temple, one of the most important temples in Himachal Pradesh and associated with the Shakti Peetha tradition. The temple is known for its kath-kuni wooden architecture, twin towers, carved gateways, and a blend of Hindu and Buddhist hill architecture."
