Así Instruían a los Reclutas en Orden Cerrado Cuando Había Mili.

What can I tell some of you from the military? You remember, it changed, didn't it? Suddenly you went from wearing civilian clothes to wearing a uniform, from having long hair to short hair, from doing your own thing to following a strict schedule, and from playing with a ball to carrying a weapon. Very tough for some and quite exciting and fun for others. And all of it to serve Spain, to give everything for the Fatherland if necessary, and on top of that, it was mandatory and poorly paid. What a great generation that was, having to go through all that. It doesn't exist anymore, it was abolished, one fine day by the divine grace of some military man. No more serving the Fatherland in uniform, why bother, he thought. Now we have the memories, the friends, the anecdotes, the pictures, and videos like this one I'm sharing with you now. I got this from the Historical Hymns Channel. It's spectacular footage from 1986 at the CIR 9 training center in Santa Climent de Sescebes, Girona. It shows the moment when recruits, who are doing their military service, are being instructed in close-order drill. Here's the video. Greetings from Ceuta, Cradle of the Spanish Legion and Pearl of the Mediterranean.
