How to explain Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, E Hastings street. It's tough as rubber and complicated. Living on streets is harsh and sometimes the street people have to stay awake all night because so many things are going on in the dark. As part of the City’s commitment to public safety, City's crew have removed an average of 2 tons of garbage from these sections on a daily basis in an effort to keep the area as clean and accessible as feasible for residents, businesses and those living on the street.
