Things I've Learned from Actually Using My Makeup

Buying makeup taught me one set of lessons... but actually using it taught me something completely different. Over the past year, I've been working through my collection with Project Pan, Shop My Stash, Deck of Panning, Pan That Palette, and my No Buy 2026. Spending time with the products I already own has completely changed the way I think about makeup, beauty spending, and what actually deserves a place in my collection. In this video, I share some of the biggest lessons I've learned, including: • Why first impressions aren't always the final verdict • How application technique can completely change a product • Why using products consistently reveals what I truly love • The difference between products I enjoy owning versus products I actually enjoy using • How rotating my collection keeps makeup exciting without constantly shopping • Why finishing products takes so much longer than I ever expected • How using my collection has changed the way I buy makeup today One of the biggest surprises has been realizing that the products I thought I'd love aren't always the ones I reach for, while some products I nearly decluttered have become everyday favorites after learning how to use them better. This journey has been less about owning less makeup and more about understanding my preferences, my routine, and my real habits. Those lessons have been invaluable as I've worked through my No Buy 2026 and become a much more intentional consumer. I hope this video encourages you to spend some time with your own collection—you might be surprised by what you discover.
