This is my husband's speciality! He's not much of a cook, as filming and editing takes up most of his time. But whenever he is inspired to make us lunch or dinner, this simple and comforting dish is usually his choice. The boys often come to help, usually carrying kitchen utensils and bringing ingredients from the fridge and pantry. There are only two main ingredients in this dish, minced beef and potatoes. But even though it's very simple, basic even, it's always delicious as a result of my husband's efforts. Probably because of all the love and attention he puts into it. There are plenty of ways to bulk it up and make it a bit more complicated, but I'll give you the original recipe here, with my suggestions in the notes and substitutions sections.
