Mauritania - Hunak Journeys
In the Adrar region of Mauritania, Hunak Journeys move through vast desert landscapes, dunes, oasis settlements, ancient cities, and communities that have long learned how to live, travel and orient themselves across this vast part of the Sahara. Our journeys here are built around movement, discovery and cultural encounter. We combine walking, 4x4 desert crossings, camping, local guesthouses, oasis stays, traditional hospitality and carefully designed itineraries created through fieldwork with trusted local partners, guides and drivers. You can experience Mauritania with Hunak in two ways: Join one of our small-group departures, with a maximum of seven travellers, starting from October during the best season. Or design a private journey with us, adapting the rhythm, route, comfort level and physical intensity to your group. The first departures will be personally accompanied by Hunak’s team. If Mauritania speaks to you and you want to understand whether this journey is right for you, send us a message!
