PETER ELKAS - "I See Fine" @ Time Out Of Mind Recording Co.

‪@peterelkas‬ has become a Canadian legend. As a member of the Local Rabbits during the alt-rock heyday of the late 90s, and then evolving into a sought-after instrumentalist backing the likes of Joel Plaskett, we were honoured to have him and his band in the Time Out Of Mind Recording Co. live room last week. While his songwriting is the touchstone centrepiece of his music, Elkas's virtuosic guitar playing cannot be overlooked. On the fretboard, Elkas has found a voice via Richard Thompson, Tom Verlaine, Stephen Malkmus, Mark Knopfler and Walter Becker, pulling from the best moments of them all to create something completely unique and new. An epic sunset complimented those wirey guitar notes as they rang out over the wide open plains of Essex County, and thanks to Peter Elkas we were all reminded of why it is we do what we do.
