Interwencja dziennikarska - Podwrocławskie Iwiny: ogromny maszt powstaje obok domów

Authorities assured residents that the local zoning plan protects residents from urban sprawl. However, a fight has been raging for weeks to prevent a 46-meter-long telecommunications tower from being built just a few meters from their homes. Residents of Iwiny, near Wrocław, are protesting against the construction, which is directly adjacent to their homes. Iwiny, near Wrocław, is a typically quiet, family-oriented neighborhood located far from the city center. Nearly 200 families, many with children, live in single-family homes. In recent weeks, the residents' peaceful lives have turned into growing conflict and anxiety over the project, which will be impossible to miss from their windows. Less than 8 meters separate the homes from the plot where the massive telecommunications tower is being built. Residents are concerned about the situation, having fought for over a year to halt the project. They fear not only for their health but also for the depreciation of their homes. They also feel powerless because, according to assurances they received from Siechnice's mayor, Milan Uszak, the local zoning plan was supposed to protect them from such investments. Meanwhile, work has begun, and there's no indication that this will change. Indeed, the expert opinion, commissioned by the mayor of Siechnice, is scathing about the project. The documents state that the planned cellular base station was located in an area typical of multi-family suburban developments with building heights up to 13.5 meters. The expert lists technical data that is missing from the documentation or whose parameters are incorrect. The Siechnice commune's zoning plan was supposed to protect residents, or at least that's what they were told by the mayor. The administrative decision in such matters is issued by the district office. Residents here are also raising concerns because the first decision issued by the office was negative, but after the investor appealed and the decision was overturned by the voivode, it was amended. Officials attribute this to a change in regulations. The investor has a legally binding construction permit, but the residents have filed appeals. These have been forwarded to the Voivode, who now has the final say in the matter. At this time, the construction permit has not been suspended, so the investor has the right to continue construction. Residents have not remained passive in recent months and are already announcing legal action. The outcome of this case will undoubtedly be unsatisfactory for one of the parties – either the investor or the residents living a few meters away.
