The band was founded by Jimi Multhazam, the vocalist, who felt disillusioned with his previous involvement in the new wave band, The Upstairs. In 2009, Jimi met Pandu, a guitarist, and Freddie, a drummer, at a music event, which marked the beginning of Morfem. The band is known for its musical style, which blends alternative rock with elements of punk rock, power pop, and a preference for bold and noisy guitar tones.
