Baxter's Trading Post Part 2: Big Pines and Frontier Details | Thunder Mesa Model Railroad

I'm back with part 2 of "Baxter's Trading Post," a new scene on the On30 Thunder mesa layout that represent the town's rough-hewn frontier beginnings. In this installment, I add real dirt ground cover, and then show my step by step method for making Ponderosa Pine trees. Then it's time to add final details to the scene and light the structures with a simple 9V DC power system. This new area has a real "Big Thunder Mt" vibe and was a total blast to build! Thanks for watching, amigos! Dave Errata: In the video i call the tree branch material "caspia." This is incorrect. It is actually called "Seafoam" and comes from Scandinavia. The more you know!
