Making an Art Quilt | Assembly (Part 1)

Follow along as I turn a simple sketch into an art quilt pattern! This art quilting technique is perfect for wall hangings, thank-you gifts, and one-of-a-kind designs where you can practice your embellishment techniques. You really can make an art quilt pattern all on your own from inspiration you see anywhere! My inspiration photo came from a magazine. I just drew an outline of the part of the image that I wanted to quilt then traced it onto freezer paper to start cutting out my pattern. You can do the same with any inspiration photo. Then follow these steps as you start assembling and embellishing your art quilt.
