Lawn Among my tips for a great-looking lawn, besides fertilizing, regular mowing, and watering, is trimming the lawn edges. The entire garden benefits tremendously from this – the flowerbeds stand out beautifully from the lawn, and the entire garden takes on a much neater appearance. Fertilizing flowerbeds – especially rose beds – I fertilize immediately after the first bloom. Weeding: The sooner we can remove weeds, the better – small ones come out of the ground much more easily, and the larger their root balls grow, the more food they steal from our ornamental plants. I try to go through most of the flowerbeds with a hoe every few days and remove weeds while they are still small. Vegetable garden: Regular harvest! I water and weed the raised beds regularly. I tie peas, tomatoes, and cucumbers to supports.
