🔴⚪ IL PERUGIA DI GAUCCI 3° PARTE: l'arrivo di SERSE COSMI

The 2000-2001 season opened with the departure of Carlo Mazzone, until then the only coach to finish a season without being fired by Gaucci. The owner decided to entrust the bench to an unknown manager, in his first experience in Serie A; a charismatic and highly tactically prepared coach, a motivator with a great temperament that sometimes led him to overdo certain behaviors: Serse Cosmi. Perugia finished the season in 11th place in the standings with 42 points. It was undoubtedly a positive year for the Grifone, who, thanks to their coach's courageous and innovative tactical choices, displayed an entertaining and effective game. This was a great revenge for Gaucci and the entire team against those who, at the beginning of the year, had been denouncing the swift and inexorable relegation of a team that, with extreme haste of judgment, was considered inexperienced and lacking in technical terms. Perugia, in 2001-2002, retained Cosmi as coach and was preparing to play its fourth consecutive top-flight championship.
