   • Revitalized Beatles: New Remix Collection      • 1960's & Early 1970's British Music Invasi...   This is a remix of Giles Martin's 2022 mix of The Beatles' 1966 recording of "I'm Only Sleeping." Artificial Double Tracking (ADT) was heavily used in the recording of "Revolver," of which this song is a part. John's double-tracked vocal was originally processed with ADT and combined with hard left-to-right panning in the stereo field. Giles Martin did not modify this in his remix. My 2024 remix removes the wide panned ADT and centers the lead vocal, resulting in a tighter, more natural sound. Paul and George's background vocals retain the ADT treatment for contrast. I have also unlocked and separated some of Paul's vocals from the others, adding a new freshness. If you're listening with headphones, you will hear some new psychedelic traveling across the sound stage, enhancing the song's atmosphere. Nothing new has been added that was not part of the original. I did not modify any of the instrumentation. Thanks for listening!
