North and Middle Sugarloaf - One short White Mountains hike with a surprisingly big payoff

North and Middle Sugarloaf Mountains are one of the best short hikes in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, offering a steady climb, open ledges, and big summit views for a relatively modest amount of effort. This hike begins on Zealand Road off Route 302 and is about 4 miles round trip with about 1,000 feet of elevation gain when you hike both peaks. 👉 Middle & North Sugarloaf on AllTrails: https://alltrails.pxf.io/rE056D 👉 The Trail Map you’ll need for this hike: https://amzn.to/43REF2b We started at the Sugarloaf Trailhead on Zealand Road, followed the trail past the Zealand River, and made our way up to North Sugarloaf before backtracking to the trail junction and then continuing on to Middle Sugarloaf for the bigger payoff view. Middle Sugarloaf is the showstopper here, with wide open ledges and sweeping panoramas across the White Mountains. Middle Sugarloaf is also one of New Hampshire’s 52 With A View peaks, which makes this hike even more fun for list hikers and anyone chasing the best small-mountain viewpoints in the White Mountains. The wide-open ledges on Middle Sugarloaf are exactly the kind of payoff that helped earn it a spot on that list.
