Touhou 東方幕華祭 春雪篇 ～ Fantastic Danmaku Festival Part II - Perfect Extra Stage (ExNNN)

A clear of the Extra stage of the game without dying, bombing or breaking a border. The sequel to Fantastic Danmaku Festival came out recently, this time focusing more on a remake/re-imagination of Perfect Cherry Blossom. They certainly gave an... interesting twist to the Extra stage. The game has like the most production value out of any Touhou game I've ever seen (at least in terms of shmups). Crazy good graphics and presentation. Though I prefer the original music. The music in this game tries to be more atmospheric than catchy, and I greatly prefer the latter. In terms of stage design I think they took a couple of steps back from even PCB, but the bosses are good fun. The border system from PCB is back, but with a few changes. First of all you graze bullets to gain cherry and activate it, instead of shooting enemies. The border can also go up to level 3 if you can manage to prolong it by not getting hit and grazing a lot. The borders are the ones giving life and bomb pieces now, and the amount you get per border is the same as the border level you got. Getting hit during a border gives you a screen clear like in PCB, though getting hit or bombing gives you a very big penalty in terms of scoring. For the first survival spell you have to keep track of the gold key and go in the opening where it ends up. This will be the only safe place on the screen. The hard part is keeping track of the key while not running into bullets. I try to not move much during the aimed butterfly bullets, so it creates a lane where you can stand still in. This way you won't have to pay attention to those bullets at all. The final spell is harder than everything else in the stage combined. The two most important things you have to remember is that the laser grid is static based on Yukari's position on the screen, so use the enemy marker as an indicator for predicting where lasers are going to spawn. Secondly, the big eye bullets have extremely tiny hitboxes. This in contrast to the dark-purple bullets, which have very big hitboxes. You want to stay as far away from those as you can.
