“Священная война” (The Sacred War) - Soviet War Song
“The Sacred War” was composed by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov and its lyrics were written by Vasily Lebedev-Kumach. It was quickly made after the beginning of Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, and today it is a popular song in Russia, used in events remembering the Great Patriotic War, the term for World War II in Russia and much of the former Soviet Union. #sovietunion #russia #victoryday #patroticsongs #soviet #ww2
