First time helming a Merlin Rocket
25+ knot forecast, what could go wrong? Dinghy racing in a Merlin Rocket, for the first time, at the Frozen Toe series hosted by Chichester Yacht Club. Up very early on a Sunday blustery winter morning to beat the tide and complete three races at the top of the harbour. I've done a couple of day before crewing a Merlin, but other than that I've barely ever sailed a symmetric kite boat. So today was going to be bit of lesson. Lot's a rope I didn't know the names of, but the gusty conditions we a leveller and we manged to acquit ourselves well, finishing 2nd in the fast fleet. #MozzySails #MerlinRocket #ChichesterHarbour
