Beach camp Ireland - Family Overlanding & wild camping in a Discovery 3, first of the series to come

This is a quick look at staycation vacation beach camping at one location in Ireland. This was a little adventure not a grand overland expedition. We left only tyre tracks in the sand, we brought a fire pit for sausages and marshmallows, played around with the mavic 2 zoom drone a little too much, enjoyed making a few time lapses with the GoPro, but also most of the beach sound track was simply recorded from within the tent on an iPhone 12, which I suppose you could loosely say was the point of the trip - a night on the beach and to wake up to the sound of the Sea. The set up which I will grandly claim as my 'Overland Rig" is a 05 Land Rover Discovery 3 (LR3) with a Howling moon 1.8M Stargazer roof top tent (fitted directly onto roof bars - no roof rack). This is comfortable camping or in my view glamping for 3. It is also fitted with the Annex which could take another 2 people easily but we keep a Thetford 365 porta potty and the dog's bed in there. The Howling moon side awning is there also because it's Ireland and it rains. On the tow bar is a buzz rack 4 X bike rack. I have inverted the carrier section of this to make a cargo rack with good ground clearance. The unit happens to be fully reversible without any drilling or cutting. There is a traxide dual battery kit and ARB 47L fridge in the rear. I suppose all the gear cost about the same as a week or two in an Irish Hotel.
