My Last Time on a Class 599!

Hi guys. Today is the day. The last time I will ever ride an old Tyne and Wear Metrocar class 599. Hope you enjoy Manufactured between 1978 and 1981 by Metro-Cammell in Washwood Heath, Birmingham, these trains have been in service for over 46 years and the time has finally come for them to be decommissioned and scrapped saved for 3 examples. Metrocar 4001 has gone to preservation at the Stephenson Steam Railway in North Tyneside, Metrocar 4019 is being donated to the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service in Washington for firefighter training and an unnamed metrocar will be going to a museum somewhere in the north east.
