Ukrainian Refugee Children Get Their First Experience Of British School Life | GMB

Refugee children who have arrived from war torn Ukraine will get their first experience of British school life this week as the summer term starts. Three children who are putting on a new uniform are 12 year old Kamila, her brother 10 year old Alikhan along with 11 year old Miroslav who all arrived at their new home in Cambridgeshire at the end of March. They fled Kharkiv with their extended family of 10 and have been taken in by local businessman Mick Swinhoe after connecting with him on Facebook. The family were helped in their journey to the UK by relative Roman Starkov, who is a British citizen.
