capoeira podcast Mestre Pe de chumbo

Son of João Pereira Dias and Erotildes Maria de Jesus, he was born in Floresta Azul on December 8, 1964. He was raised by his grandparents, due to the death of his mother during childbirth, and lived during his childhood in the cities of Ibicaraí, Eunápolis and Porto Seguro. His brother practiced capoeira, and in 1974, in the city of Ibicaraí, he became interested in the practice and began studying capoeira. In the following decade, after the death of his grandmother, Dona Brasilina Maria de Jesus, he moved to Indaiatuba (SP) to work, due to the demands of his grandfather, José Domingo Filho. And on a vacation trip to Salvador, he met Mestre João Pequeno, and stayed for a year learning Capoeira Angola. Upon returning to São Paulo, he divided his time between Capoeira Angola and Capoeira Regional. Having graduated as a Capoeira Regional teacher in 1987 and as a master in 1989, he abandoned the practice of Capoeira Regional in 1990 and dedicated himself exclusively to Capoeira Angola, becoming a teacher in 1991 and a master in 1994. Mestre Pastinha founded the Centro Esportivo de Capoeira Angola (CECA), a Capoeira Angola academy with national and international reach. Mestre Pé de Chumbo leads several branches of this academy, not only in Brazil, where he works in São Paulo, but also in Portugal, the USA, Sweden, and Mexico.
