Heart | String Figure | Nonverbal Tutorial

This video shows how to make the string figure “Heart” in a nonverbal format. This string figure tutorial (also known as a cat’s cradle tutorial) uses hand movements and simple visual guides such as arrows, without spoken or written explanations, so anyone can easily follow along regardless of age or language. This string figure is traditionally known in Alaska as “Eyes and Mouth.” As the name suggests, you first create eyes during the process, and finally make a heart-shaped mouth. There is also a particularly tricky step where it can be very difficult to tell which of the two strings you are supposed to pick up, so please be careful!
