Prophet Ayyub is estimated to have lived between 1420 and 1540 BC. He was a descendant of Prophet Isaac, son of Abraham. His lineage is Ayyub, son of Amush, son of Tawakh, son of Rum, son of Aish, son of Isaac, son of Abraham. However, scholars have erred. Regarding Prophet Ayyub's ancestry, Ibn Hajar said, "Ayyub was a descendant of Esau, the full brother of Prophet Isaac." Although clear evidence from the Quran and hadith does not mention the clear lineage of Prophet Ayyub, Ayyub is certainly a descendant of Abraham.
