First Load of the Day | Motorway Barriers & A Lucky Find

This POV truck loading video starts early in the morning with the first load of the day being collected from a motorway barrier manufacturer. The site is located up on a hill through a housing estate. The warehouse has a one-way traffic system controlled by lights because the road around the loading area is only wide enough for one truck at a time. The load consisted of metal motorway barriers which were loaded using a large forklift. Before securing the cargo, I had to place anti-slip rubber mats underneath the load to help keep everything stable and safe during transport. Once loaded, everything was strapped down and prepared for the journey to Holland. After leaving the first loading point, I headed to a second location where I collected a single long pallet that was also heading to the same destination. While waiting there I noticed some metal strips sitting in a skip and asked if I could take them. The worker laughed and said that once the door was closed, he couldn't see anything! 😅 Those strips will be perfect for future DIY projects at home, so sometimes it's worth asking the question. One person's scrap can become someone else's useful material. Throughout the video I'm doing my usual chatting about trucking life, work, random thoughts, and whatever happens to come up during the day. Nothing particularly stressful happened on this job, but that's real trucking life too.
