They Broke the Rules. Punish Them!

Here's something that sounds fairly natural and in line with your usual style: One of the biggest mindset mistakes club players make happens in the opening. Faced with an unusual, aggressive, or simply intimidating move, they often abandon their principles and slip into a defensive mindset—even when their opponent's play is objectively questionable. In this video, we look at a game that illustrates an important lesson: when your opponent breaks the rules, sometimes the correct response is not caution, but punishment. Learning when to switch from "safe mode" to "punisher mode" can make a huge difference to your results. Enjoy the game, and as always, let me know what you think in the comments!
