Baby Orangutan Bites and Fights His Dad!
Rufus is a little live wire! Infant Orangutan Rufus at Blackpool Zoo is enjoying some rough and tumble with his dad and it is great to see them together. Rufus spends most of his time close to mom Summer, but as he grows and becomes more independent of mom he wants more time with dad. The male bonding is a great way for Rufus to learn how to be a future Alpha, but will dad Kawan take notice of his baby son's attempts at trying to get his attention ! Watch till the end to find out! š¦§š Recorded 2026 Blackpool Zoo's Orangutan family are part of the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) The mother of Rufus is Summer and the father is Kawan, who moved to Blackpool Zoo in 2022 from Apenheul Zoo in the Netherlands and was an instant hit with the resident female orangutans Cherie Summer and Jingga He came to the zoo as part of the European Endangered Species program after his much loved predecessor Ramon was moved to a new group in Germany where he has just become a new father himself Kawan was specially selected by experts to join the female group at Blackpool Zoo and has settled into his new role as alpha male orangutan very well There are currently 6 Bornean Orangutans in one family group at Blackpool Zoo consisting of adult females Cherie Summer and Jingga , Alpha Male Kawan , baby Jarang and baby Rufus Baby Orangutan Alert And Taking In His Surroundings š¦§š Thanks for watching, please Like, Comment and Subscribe!
