Corvair Floor Pan Rust - Finding the hidden cause on late models (1965-69)
Before the windshield area rusts out or areas above the dash a simple seal may have long deteriorated or was never installed. I believe most of the water which plagues the Corvair floors comes from this area. Second to that is the area around the fresh air vent so make sure the seal material around the face compression area is also using a good pliable seal or rope. Jump to the 5:30 mark to see the fix and other side of the seam. Many drive their Corvairs for years not knowing about the moisture building up under the carpets until you smell the mold and mildew forming. Easy fix.
