Black Homeless Man Turns A Junk Shipping Container Into A Fully Running Home For $250

By the morning of February 3rd, 2023, the temperature outside Dante Harris's shipping container on Detroit's east side was 9 degrees below zero. The wind chill, coming off the abandoned warehouses along Mt. Elliott Street, was 27 below. Inside the container, a 4-dollar thermometer from a Dollar General taped to an insulated steel wall read 54 degrees Fahrenheit. A 63-degree differential, maintained through one of the coldest nights in Detroit's recent winter history, with no heat source except four tea candles and a man's own body.
