Professional Pilot: Do you need to have a degree?

Hello everyone and how do you do? I often get the question through my messages: ‘Captain Obet- I want to become a pilot. Do I need to have a degree first?’ I’ve done my best to answer this question which comes mostly from young people still at school, about to complete their higher educational level at high school. While there is no specific requirement to have a degree before training to become a pilot, it certainly helps to have one as it puts you on the top rung for recruitment to most major airlines.
