7/19/2026 Sunday Orthros&Divine Liturgy of the 630 Holy Fathers-4th Ecumenical Council of Chalcedon.

Readings- Epistle Tit.3:8-15; Gospel Mat. 5:14-19 For the Fathers: "As we all celebrate today * the holy Fathers’ memory, * O all-compassionate Master, * we ask You at their entreaty * to save Your people and Your flock * from any harm of heresy, * O Lord, and account us worthy * to glorify You, the Father, * the Word and the Holy Spirit." "When the council of holy fathers from far and wide had convened, they defined the dogma of the one essence and nature of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And they handed down the formula of this mystery of theology to the Church. Let us with faith call them blessed and extol them and say: “Oh divine battalion, artillery of theologians of the Lord’s army! You are luminaries, who shine like stars in the spiritual firmament, indestructible towers of mystical Zion, fragrant flowers of Paradise, the solid gold mouthpieces of the Logos, the pride and joy of Chalcedon and celebrities of Christendom. We implore you earnestly intercede for our souls." Who and What they battled against: "Holy Fathers, you subdued Pyrrhus, Honorius, Sergius * Dioscorus, Eutyches, * obdurate Nestorius, and all heretics. * From each one’s heresy you preserved the divine * flock of Christ, as from a precipice, * for you proclaimed that Christ, who is two in natures, and manifests * the energies peculiar * to each, is indeed one hypostasis. * You taught us to worship the Father and the Spirit and the Son, * who became man and is perfect God; * and we glorify you, O Saints."
