Shabby Patina - Delabrè Effect on an Old Cabinet with Magic Paint, WoodUbend, and Posh Chalk The antique patina technique used in restyling is magical, giving the furniture it's applied a timeless, almost surreal feel... When I stand before a piece of furniture restored with an antique patina, I feel suspended between past and present, and the same is true when I create my own Shabby Patina, letting myself be carried away by the filler, the layering of color, the chippings, the waxes, and the color washes. Every step is pure instinct. The original piece of furniture was truly bland and dull. Made of chipboard, bought years ago for a few euros, it continues to be useful and convenient, serving as a small pantry in my kitchen. After its first restyling, the time has come to give it another makeover, and what better way than to embellish it with WoodUbend friezes? The Arcangelo frieze (CODE WUB 1520) enriches the central part, and the Intreccio cord frieze (CODE WUB TR46) creates a frame along the doors, softening the lines of the entire piece. Magic Paint, stucco, sand, and Magic Star powder create a rough, full-bodied texture for a bold, distressed effect. Magic Paint waxes and Posh Chalk metallic paste give an even more vintage touch. And the knobs? Magic Paint's Cherry on the Cake is the perfect line to choose the most beautiful ones. I chose ceramic ones, which I customized with Posh Chalk metallic pastes, making them perfect for my restyling.
