The Greenstone Grind - Episode 2: Crushing It
What actually happens after the rock leaves the pit? Episode 2 of The Greenstone Grind takes first-year engineering students from the University of Toronto inside the mill at Equinox Gold’s Greenstone Mine, where chemistry, processing and engineering come together to extract gold at a massive scale. From grinding circuits and reactors to towering leaching tanks, students saw firsthand how classroom concepts are applied in a real mining operation. “It was really cool to see how the equations that I learned in high school were actually being applied.” Watch now. Thank you to the partners who made this happen: Ontario Mining Association, Equinox Gold, University of Toronto, Dyno Nobel, Fastenal and NORCAT. This series is funded through a partnership between the Ontario Mining Association, the Government of Canada, Ontario Government | Gouvernement de l’Ontario and Employment Ontario.
