Nano Open Webinar / Prof. Yannis F. Missirlis, 15 Ocak 2026
Nano Open / 14.01.2026 / Mechano-Chemical Information in Cells and Emergent Properties in Multicellular Organisms Patras Üniversitesi'nden Prof. Yannis F. Missirlis, 14 Ocak 2026 Çarşamba günü saat 11.00’de SUNUM'da hibrit olarak düzenlenecek Nano Open Webinar’ının konuğu oldu. ---- Prof. Yannis F. Missirlis from Patras University, was the guest of the Nano Open Webinar, which will be held on January 14, 2026, Wednesday at 11:00 in SUNUM Foyer as a hybrid. Prof. Yannis F. Missirlis talked about mechano-chemical information in cells and emergent properties in multicellular organisms. In this talk, Prof. Missirlis tried to explore the elusive term "emergent properties" in biological functions, which is being used somehow qualitatively, being quite exciting at the same time. Prof. Missirlis provided an overview of experimentally based ideas of how mechanical and biochemical information are driving a cell's function, and how the phenomenological aspects of clusters of collaborating cells, tissues, organs and all the way to organisms and their social organizations are "emerging".
