This is something we have been meaning to get for so long now and finally one of the last pieces of the data security puzzle are coming together. This UPS or uninterruptable power supply is essentially a battery backup and surge protector for your PC or any other devices in your work or office. There are 6 13A sockets on this device with 3 being surge only and the other 3 being both surge and battery protected. If the devices you are trying to protect are not very powerful you could actually plug a 4 way extension lead into one of the sockets, but due check the peak wattage and voltages to make sure the load is within the limits of the device. My end goal is to have this protecting our Synology DS920+ NAS unit and the router for internet connectivity also the mesh and maybe the 8 port gigabit LAN so we can still access the NAS or at least shut it down safely in the event of a power outage. The CyberPower software is free and works well with this for the desktop PC and the Synology has support for this UPS in the DSM 6.2 software. It the testing this unit powered my desktop pc monitor and kept it going for about 20 minutes in total then gracefully shut down. you can change the shut down times to either keep the system up longer or to preserve the battery. Overall very easy to use and setup and the battery is easily replaceable cheaply after the battery starts degrading. Highly recommended.
