The Michael Kors Bag I Never Bought… But Never Forgot! Collab With @DeeDee_Bean Part 1!

Hey friends 💕 Today’s video is a special one because it is Part 1 of my YouTube journey — where my love of bags, luxury and eventually starting Bits ’n Bags really began. This is also a collab video idea with the lovely ‪@DeeDee_Bean‬ , where we are both talking about Michael Kors. Our videos will be different, but Michael Kors is the shared focal point, and I’m so excited to hear her thoughts and memories too. For me, the bag that kind of started it all was the Michael Kors Hamilton North/South Tote. I still remember seeing the navy Hamilton with gold hardware years ago and absolutely loving it. I never bought it because, at the time, my ex-husband would never have agreed to it. I think it was around $450, which felt like such a huge amount back then. But even though I never owned it, I have never forgotten it. That bag planted a little seed. It made me look at handbags differently. It was probably one of the first bags that made me think about designer pieces, personal style, and the excitement of collecting. In a funny way, that Michael Kors Hamilton became part of the reason this channel exists!! I’d love to hear your stories in the comments. 👜 A little background on the Hamilton The original Michael Kors Hamilton became one of the brand’s most recognisable bags, especially in the early 2010s. The older North/South version had that tall, structured silhouette, top handles, often a shoulder strap, gold hardware, a front belt detail and the signature padlock charm. The newer Hamilton styles have evolved into the Hamilton Legacy and Hamilton Moderne lines. Michael Kors currently describes the Hamilton as a “heritage-chic” carryall, with current variations including satchels and totes, including logo, leather-look, faux shearling and other seasonal versions. The Hamilton Legacy Large Leather Belted Satchel is still described by Michael Kors as a structured leather satchel with adjustable side gussets and a polished chain-link pendant, which keeps that classic Hamilton DNA alive. The newer Hamilton Moderne styles keep the belted silhouette and padlock detail, but some versions are more east-west in shape and include top handles plus an adjustable crossbody strap. In terms of where the current bags are made, the Michael Kors Australia listing I found for the Hamilton Moderne Large Signature Logo Satchel says “Imported”, rather than naming a specific country.
