Lente-Idylle (Spring Idyll), Symphonic Poem (1894) A Romantic tone poem by Belgian composer Lodewijk Mortelmans (1868-1952), who is sometimes described as "Vlaamse Brahms" (the "Flemish Brahms"). In 1903, Mortelmans founded the "Maatschappij der Nieuwe Concerten" ("Society of New Concerts"), which brought many leading late Romantic composers to Antwerp, including Rachmaninov, Mahler, Sarasate, Siegfried Wagner and Richard Strauss.
