Back Nine Field Test / 19 June 2026

A solo back nine round, teeing off at 6:08am. This was another DJI Osmo Action 4 field test, this time focused on the back nine: static placements, longer shots, walking sections, transitions, course sound, and how much of a round can be recorded without letting the filming take over. The front nine was played mostly as a warm-up. The back nine became the test. A few extra details this time: car park arrival, getting clubs out, the putting green before the round, more walking footage, and some shorter edited transitions to compress the longer walks between camera and ball. No music on this one. Just course sound, footsteps, club noise, birds, wind, and the occasional thinned golf shot. The weather was bright and dry — around 17°C — but still blustery. The wind is noticeable throughout, though less severe than the previous twilight round. Conditions are imperfect. Adjustments are allowed. Play continues anyway. Most of the back nine shots are included, apart from a couple of holes where the camera setup did not quite work or the round moved on. Scoring: 39 for the back nine. +3 total. 6 pars. 3 bogeys. Striking was a little less pure than the previous round, with a few thinned shots creeping in. Something to take into the next round: slower, steadier backswing, and a proper move through the ball.
