Avian Gastric Yeast (Macrorhabdus ornithogaster) | Guest Lecture with Dr. David Phalen

Macrorhabdus ornithogaster or Avian gastric yeast (AGY) remains one of the most challenging infectious diseases that affects budgerigars on a worldwide scale. Despite how frequently it is found in budgies, there remains a lot of misinformation about how to diagnose, treat, and manage this disease in budgerigars and other parrots. Dr. David Phalen is a world-renowned avian veterinarian who led his research team to discover most of what we know about this disease today. In this guest lecture for The Budgie Academy Scholar's Club, he covers the most up-to-date research about the biology of the disease, the diagnosis, risks, and treatment of Macrorhabdus ornithogaster.
