#12 - Was Wildtiere zum Überleben brauchen - zwischen Rotor und Rückzugsraum

Climate change and the energy transition are transforming our landscape – and will play a decisive role in determining which wild animals will live here in the future. Between the snowshoe hare, the return of predators, and new energy facilities, the question arises: How do we protect both the climate and nature? Wildlife biologist Klaus Hackländer explains why some animal species cope better with climate change than others – and where the expansion of renewable energies poses particular challenges for species conservation. Spatial and environmental planner Gernot Stöglehner explains where the greatest planning challenges lie between climate and species protection – and why the land requirements of the energy transition are often overestimated. Agricultural technology expert Jürgen Schöls presents his vertical, bifacial agri-PV system and demonstrates how energy generation can generate additional income for agriculture and create new opportunities on limited land. Chapter: 00:00 Intro 01:18 Facts How can the expansion of renewable energies and the protection of wild animals be better reconciled – and where are realistic compromises needed? 2:00 PM Research Are land-use conflicts avoidable from a planning perspective – or are they deliberately accepted? 9:25 PM Ready-Made Solutions Can agriculture, biodiversity, and energy production be meaningfully combined – with added economic value? 6:06 PM Final Question for the Group What concrete steps are needed to ensure that climate protection, agriculture, and species conservation are not pitted against each other – but rather work together?
