In this episode, I reviewed several new perfume releases for October 2021, and a modern classic: Introduction 0:00 Les Indemodables Ambre Supreme part 1 1:50 Chanel No. 5 edp 100th anniversary edition 6:29 Les Indemodables Ambre Supreme part 2 16:03 Burberry Hero 25:25 Naomi Goodsir Corpus Equus 33:57 Mugler Alien Essence Absolue 42:25 Kilian Apple Brandy On The Rocks and L'Heure Verte 47:20 Here's the blotter update... Ambre Supreme is a wondrous shape-shifter: like a lens flare in a movie, filling the frame with dazzling sunlight for a moment, before gliding across to darker, more opaque territories. It would be fascinating to find out how long it took for Lie to get the balance just right here. Burberry Hero is not - repeat NOT - as dire as most of the scents pushed on hapless male buyers by the mainstream; there is a suggestion of relatively more honest and tender somewhere within its citruses. But it does far too heavily on ambery woods. No surprise there. The new Naomi Goodsir continues to impress me with its dryness: each time I smell it, I see hundreds of stallions racing across some quasi-mythical, Tolkien-esque landscape. Truly, one of the most dazzling leathers we've had for a while. Finally, the Mugler settles onto a sweeter, more vanillic base than original Alien, as though the extraterrestrial queen has decided to have a day off from space invading and settle down to an evening of looking dramatically regal on her scifi throne. -- Thanks for watching.
