We spent several days in the land of the "guanacos and guanacas," eager to explore the country, or at least its most beloved spots. The weather in El Salvador dictates the pace; throughout the week, Tropical Storm Cristina affected school schedules, the opening of cultural spaces, and our daily explorations. We fell in love with pupusas, the musicality of the local speech, the streets steeped in history, and the kindness we encountered at every turn.
