And one of Türkiye's most legendary brands was born. What followed was an empire of firsts. They brought reclining seats to Türkiye. They were the first to pick up passengers from their homes. They built their own terminals, their own facilities on Mount Bolu — according to accounts, no other company's bus could enter those facilities. Ten years before the government, they banned smoking on their buses. And in 1994, they did something unbelievable: They launched double-decker Bistro buses with the lower decks decorated as French restaurants. In Türkiye, people were having dinner inside a bus, at tables covered with white tablecloths. "Traveling with Varan" wasn't just a phrase; it was a status symbol.
