Their origin and characteristics, as well as the advantages they offer in local livestock production due to their hardiness and adaptation to the lowland tropics. Colombia's rich land offers enormous possibilities for cattle breeding; this condition, which few livestock-producing countries boast, provides interesting tools to boost meat and dairy production, and in some cases, depending on the territory, both products in a single animal, which is known as dual-purpose production.
