Marshroot, together with the military orchestra of the 8th training center of the State Special Transport Service, presented a new version of the song “Wings” - for Mother's Day. “Wings” is a composition about every soldier who stood up for the defense of Ukraine in the ranks of the Defense Forces. About those who left their home, relatives and the most dear people for the sake of the future of their country, so that their children and parents could live in a free Ukraine. And about the main desire of every soldier - to return home with Victory. Today, the author and performer of Marshroot (Mykhailo Tvortsov) is also serving in the military in the ranks of the State Special Transport Service, so this work is not only music, but also a personal story lived through the realities of war. The song “Wings” was written in early 2022 as support for the author’s childhood friend, who was already defending Ukraine at that time. Over time, it became close to thousands of Ukrainians - those who wait, believe and continue to love despite the distance and war. In her words - the experiences of mothers, the pain of separation, the fear of the unknown and the belief in a meeting after the dark winter of war. The video clip is a symbolic story of the journey of a Ukrainian soldier, who, through fatigue, trials and distance, carries with him the most important thing - the memory of home and his relatives. The letter to his mother, which turns into a paper airplane in the finale, becomes a symbol of hope, love and connection between those who fight and those who wait, and a reminder of who the Ukrainian military goes through the difficult trials of war every day for. "Give your white wings..." is the prayer of every son and daughter who are far from home, but their hearts are always close to their mother. Happy Mother's Day!
