Lala Terrace Kawaguchi celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The opening ceremony began at 9:00 AM with a Japanese drumming performance, guest speeches, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The mall opened just before 10:00 AM. A large crowd gathered to celebrate the start of the new shopping mall. Four Years and Three Months After Sogo Kawaguchi's Closure Approximately four years and three months have passed since Sogo Kawaguchi closed on February 28, 2021. Time has passed since then, and a new shopping spot has finally been born in Kawaguchi in a new form. Upon stepping inside, the unique aroma of the former Sogo Kawaguchi permeates the air, creating a mysterious space where nostalgia and newness blend. A Space Where Old and New Blend The building features elements retained from the Sogo Kawaguchi era alongside new stores that are in line with modern trends, creating a sense of timelessness. The marble, gold pillars, and handrails remain unchanged from the Sogo era, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Current Status of the 9th and 10th Floors and the 11th Floor Rooftop BBQ Corner Unfortunately, the 9th and 10th floors were closed and we were unable to visit, but we hope they will reopen someday. Meanwhile, the 11th floor features a rooftop BBQ corner, which is sure to attract attention as a special area. We've recorded a video of the store's opening day.
